Origin / Goal / Mission / Concept Origin The idea of launching GEISHA & CO. is based on what the founder has felt as a Japanese living overseas communicating with people all over the world. Also, the founder has strong sympathy for participating in achieving the SDGs. Our goal is to spread the beauty and coolness of Japan overseas. Japan has various cultures which can be proud of in the world. Food, anime, transportation, martial arts, and so on. There is no doubt that all of these cool cultures were born from the character of Japanese people such as kodawari=craftmanship, omotenashi=hospitality, and kaizen=spirit of continuous improvement. While there are many core fans around the world who enthusiastically support them, it is also true that there are still many Japanese cultures that are not well known. We would be very happy to be involved in the work of spreading such wonderful Japanese culture to the world supporting SDGs spirits. Our mission is to be involved in  works which lead to spread cool Japanese culture  works which we can take a part in the movements of the SDGs We believe that KIMONO is one of those cool Japanese cultures which many have heard the word but are not sure what they are or know what they are but never worn or even touched. Even for Japanese people nowadays, the majority have never worn them. We have researched and found out that there are more than 200.000.000 kimonos that have been stored (and never been worn again!) in closets at home in Japan. We believe these kimonos should and can shine again not only in Japan but also worldwide. Finally, we have come to the idea of upcycling those kimono fabrics to stylish fashion items like handbags and cool interior products. All of our products are one-of-a-kind items, and we do not mass-produce them at all. Our craftsman specialized in Japanese sewing develops and hand-makes products that make the best use of the characteristics of the fabric so that the fabric can shine the most. GEISHA & CO. 原点／ゴール／ミッション／コンセプト 原点 GEISHA & CO.の立ち上げは、創業者が海外に住む日本人として、世界中の人々と交流する中で感じたことがベースになっています。また、SDGsの達成に参画することに強い共感を持っています。私たちが目指すのは、日本の美しさ、かっこよさを海外に発信することです。日本には世界に誇れる様々な文化があります。食、アニメ、交通、武道、などなど。これらの文化は、「ものづくり」「おもてなし」「カイゼン」といった日本人の気質から生まれたものであることは間違いありません。世界中に熱狂的に応援してくれるコアなファンがいる一方で、まだまだ知られていない日本文化がたくさんあることも事実です。SDGsスピリットを支える、そんな素晴らしい日本文化を世界に広める仕事に携わることができれば、とても幸せです。SDGsのムーブメントの一端を担えるような、クールな日本文化を広めることにつながる仕事に携わることが私たちの使命です。 着物は、言葉は聞いたことがあってもどんなものかわからない、あるいは知っていても着たことがない、触れたこともない、そんなクールな日本文化の一つだと考えています。今の日本人でも、着たことがない人が大多数です。私たちが調べたところ、日本の家庭の押入れに保管されている（そして二度と着られない！）着物は200,000,000枚以上あることがわかりました。私たちは、これらの着物が日本だけでなく、世界中で再び輝けるはずだと信じています。そして、その着物の生地を、ハンドバッグやインテリアなどのファッションアイテムにアップサイクルすることを思いつきました。私たちの商品はすべて一点ものであり、大量生産は一切していません。和裁を専門とする職人が、生地の特性を生かし、生地が最も輝くような製品を開発し、手作業で作っています。主な部門 着物バッグ（トート、ショルダー、ウエスト、三角、ミニなど） インテリア（ファブリックウォールパネル、スツール、クッション、カーテンなど） おもてなし用品（箸入れ、ランチョンマット、メニューカバーなど） SDGsグッズ（エコバッグ、バッグフックなど） ※写真はイメージです。
