This piece is a scene from the film CITIZENs, shot in October this year with over 100 crew members from around the world, including the U.S., China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe. The film was fully funded through donations, inspired by the director’s strong belief in the possibility of us, as global “citizens,” choosing a path without conflict.

Yasushi Fuluichi was born in Kyoto in 1959. He is a multi-talented filmmaker who writes, directs, shoots, edits, and composes music for his films, and was one of the first to take notice of the video camera, a revolutionary technological breakthrough 10 years ago that gave it tremendous expressive power. His new production method emphasizes communication and flexibility, and relies on a small team that defies conventional wisdom. His work is highly acclaimed overseas for its visual beauty, and he has won awards at film festivals in all categories, including scriptwriting, cinematography, music, and directing.
ふるいちやすしは、1959年京都生まれ。脚本、監督、撮影、編集、音楽までも一人でこなすマルチプレーヤー。10年前に起こった革命的な技術革新により、飛躍的な表現力を得たビデオカメラにいち早く目をつけ、以来、デジタルシネマのパイオニアとしてフィルムに劣らない劇場レベルの作品を次々に産み出す。
