Explore the relationship between emotional and physical distance from loved ones. Using the beautiful but tragic women of “Ophelia” in the West and “Jigokudayu” in the East as motifs, we will consider the changing times and the environment surrounding the culture that consumes female tragedy, which has taken root in the East and West, and the modern women and youth who live majestically and intelligently and seek self-realization.

Ao Miyasaka reexamines Japanese spirituality through ukiyoe prints from the Edo period, and expresses the passion and rebellious spirit of the modern age in his paintings and textiles. Born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, a castle town and art capital of Japan in 2000, Ao Miyasaka moved to Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, where neon lights and technology abound, and has a combination of “traditional Japanese culture” and “Tokyo city culture”.His style is characterized by a sense of modern energy, even though the materials and motifs are reminiscent of old Japan. His own experiences related to his family environment and sexual crimes led him to look into social issues, which led him to become an artist, and he is always learning about the social environment of the countries and communities he is involved with. As of 2024, he is based in Japan as a contemporary artist and has expanded his activities to the United States ,Korea and China.
