| Magnificat II is an assemblage of rolled metal forms that originated as flat metal cutouts. The cutouts are painted spontaneously, without any regard to how they might be later combined.
Only after they are passed through the slip roller are the cutouts placed arbitrarily together and joined to form the finished sculpture. This creative process is a kind of play, meant to express joy and spontaneity at every stage. |
Magnificat II は、平らな金属の切り抜きから始まった、丸められた金属の形状のアセンブレージです。切り抜きは、後でどのように組み合わせられるかを考慮せず、即興で塗装されます。

| Much like Magnificat II, Wonderwheel is assembled from a stock of parts which have been formed and painted in carnival colors with no firm conception of how they might eventually be combined.
The assemblage is stabilized with oversize nuts and bolts, capped with green wooden finials which exaggerate instead of disguising the joinery. Wonderwheel is presented on a turntable which invites the viewer to rotate the work. |
