Damien Berdichevsky



Damien Olsen Berdichevsky is a multidisciplinary artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1961 to a Ukrainian immigrant family. Creatively limited by the political and cultural atmosphere in Argentina, he relocated to Brazil in 1979.

Damien Olsen Berdichevskyは1961年、アルゼンチンのブエノスアイレスでウクライナ移民の家庭に生まれた学際的なアーティスト。アルゼンチンの政治的、文化的な雰囲気に刺激され、1979年にブラジルに移住した。

Damien’s educational studies include:
Zen Buddhism at Shobo-An Zen Center in Cordoba, Argentina, Psychology and Dance at the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Santa Catarina in Florianopolis, Brazil.
By the middle 90s he started working in music and sculpture. Influenced by the surrounding architecture and African culture of Bahia, Brazil, Damien started producing sculptures using wood as his primary medium.
In 1999 Damien moved to New York. He currently lives in Brooklyn and continues to work in art and music.
