Moving Through Waves

I make boats, which can invoke myriad associations: first of all travel on water; boats transport people and things to other places-familiar or unfamiliar. Boats can take us out of a situation and or bring us into a new one. We can use them for escape or to seek refuge. Ironically, my boats are made from clay, and would never actually float. I see these metaphoric but quite solid boats as spiritual as well as actual passage to
elsewhere. The people who travel on them are hopeful that as they might arrive safely into a brighter future.
